Thornes U17 Colts Work Hard To Beat Ten Man Tingley Athletic

By Mark Parsons

Thornes colts 4-2 Tingley Athletic

The Ten men of Tingley Athletic showed commitment and resilience against a slow starting thornes Colts side who perhaps thought it would be an easy game against a side who were a man short. However it was the Ten men who took the lead following an ineffective start by Thornes Colts. Thornes Colts soon equalised through Shane Killburn who was always looked a speedy threat upfront.

Thornes Colts were much improved throughout the second half and two fantastic through balls from Rob Squires gave Shane Killburn the chances to score Two more goals and complete his Hat-trick to give Thornes Colts a 3-1 lead.

Credit to 10 man Tingley who continued to provide a spirited display, despite being a man down. Thornes extra man showed and they went 4-1 up after a through ball from CJ Lowden found Jack Wood, who made no mistake in finding the net.

Tingley kept going and managed to pull a goal back, the last 10 mins proved difficult for Colts, but their superiority showed through to hold on to the win and move them into the top half of the League Table.

A Good overall performance by the whole team, and a great debut by Liam Lafferty.

M.O.M went to Shane Killburn for his well earned Hat-rick.
