Hard to watch

By

Another very poor second half performance, gifts opponents the points, for a second successive week.

Tyldesley departed SGP, hoping to eradicate the memory of last week’s soft defeat, and despite seven changes, forced upon them; they still had a team, more than capable, of taking this game.

In many respects, and just like last week, it isn’t the defeat that hurts, as much as the manner in which it occurred, which leaves the coaching team, scratching their heads.

It was hard too separate the teams, during the first forty, but the second period, certainly belonged to the hosts, who made a few changes that added some zip, into their back line, which Bongs struggled to deal with.

All looked good early doors, after an excellent start, had Lee Davies cross the line, after some solid forward plays, pushed Widnes back, towards their own line. Martin Wallbank added a good conversion from afar.

By the first quarter, Widnes had leveled things up, after they won a scrum twenty meters out, good handling and support play, resulted in a try, conversion added.

Tyldesley continued to apply themselves pretty well, but failed to apply the finishing touch, mainly due to their own doing.

With the half, all but done, Widnes crossed for a second try, conversion, just missing, giving them a five point cushion at the break.

With everything to play for, Tyldesley, started the second half with high hopes, but defensive frailties, proved costly. But just as worryingly, was Tyldesley’s, inability, too keep possession, for any length of time.

Ten minutes into the half, Widnes extended their lead, to ten, after a good kick, and chase resulted in a try, conversion missed.

By now, Widnes had started to grown in confidence, via good yards made, through the visitors, disorganized defensive line, resulting in a forth, bonus point try, conversion added, as the hour mark approached.

Try as they may, Bongs continued to shoot themselves in the foot, with Widnes crossing for a fifth try, conversion added, with just two left on the clock.
