A really good way to end a tricky season for the twos with a commanding victory over St Margaretbury. It's was good toss to win and enabled us to put them in to bat on a sticky wicket. A good start for the stand in skipper, while Kev was off helping the ones get the win they needed at Hertford.
A great opening spell from Tom Lester and Ben Compton put pressure on them from the start and they faltered to 15-1 off the first 10 overs, this was backed up in the field with a byeless keeping display from Jamie Don and some great work in the covers by Rob Davies. A change of bowling Saw Simon Pattinson pick up two wickets and Andy Milton two more. Then Joel Pattinson came on and bowl a very tidy spell, which included an all caught hatrick, first being a top edge pouch by Jamie, a straight forward caught and bowled and final one, one of the easiest catches you will see for a hatrick to the Skipper for the day at short mid wicket. With Hugh Andrews and Ben Kimpton picking up the other two wickets they were all out for 81.
Despite suffering the loss of a couple of early wickets in Milton and Nick Griffin, the runs were knocked off comfortably with a great 46 from the injured Phil McMurdie and Simon Pattinson 16 for a great win for the team.
Well done all and see you next year for more of the same!!!!
