The 1st XI game against Irvine at Albert Park was called off because of persistent rain in Glasgow.
The 2nd XI game at Marress went ahead though. Albert Park batted first and began well with Zaheed Hussain and stand-in skipper Inderjit Mahal putting on 65 for the first wicket. But the fall of the first wicket was the trigger for a collapse as Albert Park slipped to 95 for 7 against some tight Marress bowling. Zaheed Hussain kept steady while wickets were being lost all around him and was eventually out for 59. And the tail wagged a bit as Ian Speirits and Abid Raza put on a decent stand for the 9th wicket but Albert Park were eventually all out for 137.
On a slightly damp wicket Albert Park still had some hope of stopping Marress short of the victory target. They chipped away with wickets at steady intervals, Abid Raza and Abbas Arfeen both taking two. But a few half-chances were missed in the field and Albert Park never caused the collapse that would probably have been needed to stop a team reaching 138. Marress skipper Ingram held his team's innings together with a steady innings of 36 not out and the home team got to the victory target for the loss of 6 wickets.
Weirs were back down to Ayrshire on Sunday, this time to play Ayr in the Sunday League at Cambusdoon. Weirs batted first and recovered from an early collapse to post 127, Wajid Mohammed scoring 24 and Adnan Khalid 22.
It looked like 127 might be enough as Ayr also lost early wickets cheaply, Salim Sabir and Rizwan Qamar were amongst the Wickets for Weirs. But Ayr steadied the ship and, as in the previous days game, got to the victory target for the loss of 6 wickets.
