27 minutes played Vandals create some great pressure through a turnover penalty. Vandals break the option line with some good interplay between backs and forwards, results in a well-timed offload out of the tackle for Ben Mullineux goes over for a try. Will Gibson-Hunt ghosts through a couple of tackles with a well picked line and scores a brilliant individual try. Will however is waving frantically at the bench as he is blowing out of his backside. A quick substitution and Tom Chase takes the field so Will can find his lungs. Half time passes and the contest between the two teams is pretty evenly matched. Vandals are first the strike in the second half. Vandals continue to build pressure in the Farnham half. Farnham then give away high tackle. Anthony Tyrrell quickly takes the penalty and bundles over for his second try. Conversion missed, 47 minutes played Vandals lead 29-14
Both teams making good surges into the oppositions half. Vandals dominate the lineout ball but Farnham dominate the scrums. Farnham break wide and go over for a third try in. Vandals lead 29-19
Vandals fitness starts to shine through with Farnham players starting to find themselves out of position. Vandals take advantage of this as the back line isolate forwards in the Farnham back line. This is quickly exploited as Greg Lynch breaks the Farnham line. The last 10 minute of the game turns into a real scrappy affair. Mistakes rue any real attacking threats from both teams. Vandals however come up with one last final moment of magic. Farnham kick deep to clear their lines. The ball is collected by Dave Loubster, the kick chase is lacking from Farnham and there few options for a counter. Vandals 2nd XV continue to build momentum in the league and are making a good surge towards the top of the table. With tougher opposition to come the squad is aware there are bigger tests to come. But the players continue to put in performances that will give coach Merlin more selection problems for upcoming games as competition for places continues to grow.
