Old eds started confidently and built a 9 point lead thanks to the accurate boot of their scrum half; the Wanderers struggled to gain any meaningful possession but Tom Richmond charged down an attempted kick to touch to score their opening try. Old Eds were still in control and following another successful penalty their lively wing scored a great individual try, duly converted to leave the wanderers 19 points to 5 in arrears.
The second half, however, saw the Wanderers come storming back scoring 3 tries in a 15 minute spell, from Chris Griffiths, Mike James and Sam Carter, 2 converted by Greg Fincher to take a lead, which despite a nervous final 10 minutes, they never really looked like conceding, leaving the final score, Worcester Wanderers 24, Nuneaton Old Eds 19.
