It was simple against Trimpell

15 point win stretches lead at the top
Ambleside batted first in the glorious sunshine and quickly found themselves 77 for 0 with Johno making 45. However, once he was given out lbw the score rapidly turned to 79 for 5 with Mouth, Tush and Tudor all getting lovely ducks - Tushy did play one nice shot and Tudor is now very, very close to getting an Audi and maybe even and Olympic ring!! The lower order fancied some runs though with Spenny, Barney and Woody all getting into the 20's leaving Ambleside on 156 all out - an average total at best. Tush made a glorious tea with fresh bread and a delightful mixture of fillings, my favourite was the bacon and...!
Trimpell made no effort to score the runs but it took until the 38th over to bowl them all out for 65 with Woody and Oli picking up four wickets each. Barney and Will went for less than 1 an over in their spells keeping things very tight. Ingleton next week, on a Sunday.
Player of the match goes to Woody for his 20 vital runs when the real batsmen failed, his excellent four wickets and for his beard - just my opinion though.
