A.F.C. TELFORD UNITED V ASHTON UNITED
DATE: SATURDAY 1st SEPTEMBER 2018
KO: 15:00
VENUE: Watling Street, Wellington, TF1 2TU

Ashton were unlucky to draw against Darlington at home, in a result that seemingly mirrored the previous game against Southport. Again, the Robins led 2-0 going into half time, with long range efforts from Matty Chadwick and Bradley Jackson separating the two teams. However, another lapse of concentration in the second half meant that Darlington were able to score 2 goals, one being the result of a penalty, resulting in the Robins chalking up another draw this season.
Ashton’s opponents are in the midst of a great run of form, with Telford currently lying 3rd in the table and they are also undefeated. It will take a lot of quality and determination from the Robins to overcome this difficult challenge, especially with league leaders Chorley waiting just round the corner.

ONE TO WATCH:
The player Ashton United fans need to keep an eye on is 22-year Nigerian forward Daniel Udoh. The striker has been in great form for the Bucks so far this season scoring 5 goals in 7 games.
The striker began his youth career with Luton Town and then Stevenage before being spotted by representatives of then league 1 team Crewe Alexandria, making his first team debut in a 1-0 loss against Port Vale. He scored his first senior goal on his 20th birthday against Accrington Stanley.
Loan spells followed with Solihull Moors, Halesowen Town, Chester and Leamington before he joined Telford on the expiry of his Crewe Alexandra contract.
Robin’s fan will be hoping that this young, clinical striker will have a bad day at the office on Saturday.

OTHER FIXTURES IN FOCUS:
- Top of the table and the Robin’s next opponents Chorley will be hoping to continue their perfect start to the season away to Brackley Town
