100 Club Provide Life Saving Equipment

We as a club have recently taken stock of a piece of equipment that will prove vital in an emergency. God forbid it ever has to be used in anger but in that situation, we are now able to provide what could be lifesaving help. We are thankful to Club President Rodney Kennett our 100 Club for providing us with a brand-new Defibrillator Life pack.

To our knowledge within the local area there are only 2 of these that are able to be used, both housed in Shirehampton Doctors surgery and Avonmouth Doctors surgery.
With our own club expanding and now holding 17 sides from aged 7 to VETS and 7 sports facilities (Smelters Boxing Club, Avonmouth Bowls, Avonmouth FC, Shirehampton FC, Shirehampton Golf Course, Shirehampton Cricket Club and Twyford Cricket Club) being within 1-mile radius of us, we felt it would be a valuable piece of kit for us to hold.

The Defibrillator pack will be housed behind the bottom bar on the shelves to the left & accessible to anyone during the clubs opening/operating hours.
It is equipment that is to be respected and clearly only used in an emergency. It will be indicated by the correct signage, it is for use by those with NO LIFESAVING EXPERIENCE or with minimal training, this AED can be used by the first person on the scene of a cardiac arrest.

Made with the same technology as used in hospital yet is simple to use with:

-Voice and picture instructions for AED and CPR
-Clear and calm guidance through a) assessing the patient b) opening the airway and c) applying the defibrillator pads
-Detects heart rhythm and if needed delivers the shock on its own, without rescuer interaction required yet gives the user a commentary
-No buttons to push
-QUIK-PAK™ electrodes are pre-connected, easy to open and apply, saving time in an emergency
-Requires little maintenance and is quick and easy to recharge
-Suitable for use on infants and children when used with the infant child reduced energy kit
-Highly visible indicator shows it is ready to use.
