Manager Paul Bonham again shuffled the pack bringing in new signing Hakim Nyariki who replaced Josh Williams who was released this week. On the bench was another new signing Ryan Young and U18s midfielder Archie Clarke.
The pitch was very damp courtesy of a down pour about an hour before the game and it was the away side that started the better of the two sides, establishing early dominance all over the park. However on seventeen minutes Will Summerfield was felled in the area by Nick Bennion as he slid out on the wet surface and upended the Berkhamsted forward and Matt Bateman dispatched the resultant penalty for a deserved lead.
Hakim Nyariki had a shot blocked midway through the first half but FC were struggling to get into the game and in fact the Comrades could have extended their lead, Will Summerfield fired a couple of shots too high and an Adiel Mannion header was saved by Bennion
Early in the second half, Summerfield struck a fierce shot that came back off the post and teenager Swales rammed home the rebound to double Berko’s lead. Nick Bennion did well to tip a Bateman shot over the bar. Swales was then tripped in the box by Jordan Jenkins and Bateman took his tally to 21 goals so far this season, converting his second spot kick of the game.
Substitute Ryan Young did add some energy down the right flank and got in a number of good crosses which FC just couldn't convert but in the end it wasBerkhamsted who rightly took all three points
Luke Daley kept a clean sheet, without having to save a real shot in the whole game, but looked confident collecting crosses
