The game started off very evenly, with both sides probing each other. Some early pressure from Aylesbury on the Burnham back line forced some mistakes and eventually one fell to Alfi Touceda who’s effort was comfortably saved by the keeper in the end.
At the the other end Burnham had a chance of their own, when they broke from a corner and Taf Manjengwa was caught on the ball on the half way line. two Burnham players broke through and the striker ended up sliding his one on one past the post. 0-0 at half time.
Again in the second half it was Aylesbury that started the better of the two sides, with some lovely footwork down the right hand side, Jamie Keen beat two players and laid the ball to skipper Touceda, who smashed the ball home passed the keeper. Burnham were looking to get back into the game and did so about fifteen minutes from time when a corner wasn’t cleared properly and ended up in the back of the net. 1-1 and heading into extra time.
Aylesbury were now looking to make the most of some tired legs and once again some lovely play down the wing, ended up with substitute striker Jamieson Hunt latching onto to a through back and testing the keeper, however it fell to Alfi Touceda again who rode two tackles before slotting the ball home with a great finish.
Burnham were now getting right into the game and chasing the equaliser which came just before half time of the extra period, when the left back when on a mazey run beating two players before his cross was turned in by Aylesbury Defender Leo Gualchierotti. Right at the death of extra time, Burnham were given a penalty, which was saved brilliantly along with the rebound by Goalkeeper Archie Davis. After that there was a a bit of handbags between both sides which ended up with a Burnham playing being sent off.
The match went to penalties. Burnham first who’s effort went over the bar. Harry Edmonds stepped up and slotted into the top corner. Burnham scored their next penalty. Jamieson Hunt sent home his penalty through the keepers leg. Burnhams third was saved by keeper Archie Davis before Henry Richmond sent the keeper the wrong way. Finally, Archie saved the winning penalty and the boys progress to the next round against Sandhurst
