DT: “A very uncharacteristic performance tonight. Our work rate was far from the levels we have set, particularly in the first half, and we have paid the price tonight against a side that moves the ball around well and works extremely hard in and out of possession.
“We knew from the reverse fixture how hard it was going to be tonight, as we had to run ourselves into the ground to get the win first time around. We were nowhere near that tonight from the off.
“On a night where there were few positives, it was good to see some players make their return to the squad and also to see Cian grab another goal. He is in fine form, averaging a goal a game this season, and in my opinion he is another player seriously pushing for first team involvement.
“A real learning curve for us tonight, especially for the younger lads in the squad, and much improvement in application and work rate is required for our upcoming games if we are going to continue to progress this season.”
