Lancaster 1-3 Bamber Bridge - Doodson Sport Cup

By Stefan Willoughby

Brig continue their great run by winning again this time in the Doodson Cup away at Giant Axe.

Brig were slow to start once again with Lancaster having good possession in the first 20 minutes and scoring after 18.

But as seems to be the way recently this stirred Brig into action and they never looked back. Another stunning performance saw great possession, passing and teamwork from every player turned the game on it's head.

Chances kept coming and Curtis Thompson struck a lovely curling shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. Not long after Saturday's man of the match Ali Waddecar scored again with a run to the edge of the box and despite Lancasters keeper getting a hand to it he couldn't stop it hitting the back of the net.

Lancaster came out strong in the first few minutes of the second half but Matty Kay finished off a run into the box in style scoring Brig's 3rd and final goal. There could have been more for both sides but the scoreline stayed the same taking Brig into the next round.

Cammel Laird away next, this Saturday.
