McLaggon speaks out after two-goal haul beats Newtown

“Today, we got what we deserved.” Kayne McLaggon

Minutes after scoring his first JD Welsh Premier League goals against Newtown this weekend, Barry Town forward Kayne McLaggon was full of praise for the quality of his new division.

"Every game is competitive. Every game we go into, we know it's going to be a tough game".

"Comparing it to the level I've just come from at Merthyr, I think this is a lot stronger top to bottom.

"The top teams are obviously a lot better than Merthyr's league and the bottom sides are probably on par with the top sides in the Southern Premier League".

Discussing his side's 2-0 win at Jenner Park, their first since returning to the top flight, McLaggon commented: "It's massive for us and it feels like a long time coming".

"Today, we got what we deserved".

"It means so much to score for your hometown club".
