Tom Bates Signs for the Canaries

By Murray Dworkin

Jimmy Ginnelly has again been active in the transfer market as he re-signed the talented Tom Bates from Bedworth United.

Tom has played before for the Canaries having spent a short time at Kirkby Road at the beginning of 2011. He then went to Coventry Sphinx, Daventry Town, Nuneaton Town and ended last season at Bedworth United where he was instrumental in their promotion push into the Evostik League Southern Premier Division.

Tom started his career at Coventry City and after a spell at Rochdale he was on the local scene at Sphinx, Nuneaton, Atherstone and Leamington before joining Barwell in December 2010.

He is a dynamic left sided midfielder who will contribute with his set pieces as well as hoping to score significant goals. He hopes to improve on last year’s tally of fourteen.

Barwell FC would like to welcome Tom back into the fold and to a successful career with the Canaries.
