The Canaries started the game on the front foot, dominating posessession and pinning the visitors into their own half for long periods.
Nigel Julien and Craig Reid both had shots blocked, with Sam Joel's near post effort - saved by Liam Castle - was Workington's best reply.
Workington goalkeeper Aaron Taylor came to punch away a cross on 37 minutes, only for the ball to land at the feet of Brady Hickey who lobbed the ball into the net from the edge of the area. His effort saw his side go in ahead at the break.
The visitors started the second half with a bit of momentum, with Sam Joel and Nathan Waterston looking to create in advanced areas. However, Barwell soon found themselves back on top and dominating as they had done so strongly in the first half.
After some sustained pressure, Workington's best chance to claim an equaliser came when they worked the ball into the box and drilled a cross along the six yard box - only for Castle to claim.
Substitute Ryan Baldwin ensured that Barwell kept pressure on the Workington defence, as the Canaries worked hard with some aggressive pressing to see out another victory.
