The Canaries various early chances to take the lead, with Eddy Nisevic seeing his shot saved before Owen Story fired wide.
Matt Stenson had a chance minutes later, after receiving the ball from Story, but he curled his shot over the bar.
Barwell maintained their pressure, with Sutton Coldfield struggling to carve out any serious chances. The increased Barwell attacking paid off eleven minutes before the break, when James Beresford turned the ball into his own net.
Six minutes later, Sutton Coldfield scrambled home an equaliser when Justin Richards turned in from close range.
The home side started the second half as they did the first, applying pressure. Owen Story caught sight of goal, but he instead looked for a pass and the move broke down.
On the hour mark, Stenson got himself on the end of a long ball and kept his composure in the box to fire past Matthew Coton.
Checkaine Steele had a chance to gain another equaliser for the visitors, but Liam Castle produced a fine save to deny him one-on-one with fifteen to play.
Sutton Coldfield looked to have accepted their fate, showing no great desire to push for a late equaliser and the home side saw the game out comfortably.
