Beccs U13s 25 v 5 Edenbridge (Home, Sunday 6 Jan)

A fine start to 2019 for the U13s against a resilient and determined Edenbridge.

A fine winter morning produced some excellent rugby, played in great spirit.

Beccs squad of 20, played with good intent from the off, having not played since guest coach training session on 16 Dec, the intent and determination was evident from the off, particularly pleasing to see the boys enjoying themselves, and putting the hard work in training on the playing pitch too, playing freely and as a team.

Compliments to the visitors for a very competitive game played by Edenbridge with great commitment, excellent handling and tackling, and sticking together. Particular mention to the two U12s playing up, and richly awarded joint MoM.

Scoring sequence (25 mins each way)
1-0 – Oliver.B, 8mins (following teamwork at breakdown resulting in a turnover, hard and direct run).
2-0 – Fraser, 16minis (break from just inside our own 22, out-pacing everyone to score).
3-0 – Lewis, 20mins (great team try, went through phases, spread the ball down the line and wide to score in the corner).

3-1 – Edenbridge, 33mins.
4-1 – Josh, 42mins.
5-1 – Quinn, 47mins

Man of the Match – again some great performances, and a real team effort. However for strong and direct running, including his own try, work-rate and support goes to Josh. Captain for the day Ollie.M.

We’ve spoken a lot about teamwork recently. Primary goal was to play with a smile on our faces, which I think was achieved with due excellence and everyone enjoyed the game. Many positives and some constructive areas to work on over the next three weeks training, before a February full of four consecutive match weeks. By playing together and supporting one another we played great rugby and earned a great result. Well done.
