Eagles progress to the next round

By Roger Worsley

Eagles' convincing win proves there is still magic in The Cup.

Bedford pulled off a shock, but deserved, win on Saturday at the QE2 stadium.
In a higher division and unbeaten from the start of the season, Enfield Town were favourites, but in the (Emirates) FA Cup, nothing can be taken for granted. Jon Taylor didn't need reminding that Bedford had lost their last three games, but put out a side that produced Bedford's best game of the season. Dan Walker scored a brace for the Eagles, with Ashton Grant's clinical strike sandwiched in between, as Bedford ran out 3-0 winners.
Bedford go into the hat on Monday for the draw for the 2nd Qualifying Round, and this will be played on the weekend of 22nd September.
The Eagles are back in league action on Saturday 15th September, as we take the short journey to Hillgrounds to face Kempston Rovers. 3pm kick off.
The FA Cup match report will be put on the site later on Sunday (today).
