With the teams lying close together in the table a close game was expected.
With defenders James Pool and Adam Crooks and midfielder Sam Downes missing the lineup in front of keeper Fraser Thomas was Sam Roberts, Kai Long, Nathan Rendell and youngster Alex Robertson, a midfield of Zach Francis, captain Jack Keen, Jem Douglas and Chris Hind with Adam Young and Mason Daggar leading the attack.
From the outset Sutton found it difficult to get into the game, Chippenham having the majority of possession and dominating the play.
Against the run of the play Sutton scored on 40 minutes, Daggar picked up the ball wide on the right, showing good control and strength to cut in and place a powerful shot just inside the near post.

The first sub came in the 67th minute, Francis giving way to Sam Glasson.
Chippenham continued to pressurise, and on 68 minutes Thomas tipped a goalbound shot onto the bar.
The equaliser came a minute later, a corner from the left failed to be cleared, the ball being forced in through a crowded box.
Chippenham went ahead in the 82nd minute, converting a penalty kick.
The second sub came in the 83rd minute, Young being replaced by manager Dave Stone.
Chippenham sealed their win four minutes from time, a free kick from the right was floated over to the far post, a firm header giving Thomas no chance.

Sutton’s Man of the Match, centre forward Mason Daggar for another impressive game and goal.
Overall a disappointing performance which hopefully will be improved upon for our visit to Ashton and Backwell on Friday night the 6th October for the first of this year’s Ground Hop matches.
