Same scoreline as home fixture

With Bishops Lydeard sitting in 11th spot in the table, one place and one point behind Sutton and following on from the three each draw here in August, a close game was expected.

Josh Yakub continued in goal, behind a back four of Ben Snell, Kai Long, captain Jack Keen and Reece John, a midfield of Sam Roberts, Sam Downes, Chris Hind and Josh Keen with Mason Daggar and Adam Young up front.
Lydeard started brightly playing down the slope, keeping Sutton on the back foot and opening the scoring in the 13th minute, Sutton losing the ball in midfield resulting in Yakub being cleverly lobbed.
The hosts doubled their score 8 minutes later, a quick break down the left hand side finished with an accurate shot into the top right corner.
Sutton gradually got into the game, Josh Keen firing narrowly wide of the left post with a well struck low drive.
On 34 minutes Sutton struck with a goal from Young who cleverly beat two defenders and scored with a shot from an acute angle from the right hand side.
Downes came close to equalising 3 minutes later, a free kick from 35 metres sailed narrowly wide of the right post with the Lydeard keeper stranded.

Young came close 2 minutes later, lobbing the keeper, the ball finishing on the top of the net.
Sutton went ahead in the 67 minute, Snell collecting the ball on halfway, making ground strongly and firing home with a left footed shot from 15 metres.
The Lydeard keeper excelled in the 73rd minute, making a double save from close range.
Sutton played two subs in the 87th and on 90 + 3 minutes, Downes and Young being replaced by Alex Chapman and Ben Alexander.
Lydeard scored a last gasp equaliser on 90 + 4, a centre from the right resulted in a goalmouth scramble, the ball being forced home.
