Improvements aplenty to enjoy

Clitheroe are a side which brings out the beast in some of our lads as they enjoy their education within the boundry of this fair town, and safe to say their lads are equally up for this encounter!! But first we had to take on a spirited Fleetwood team, who had enjoyed a narrow victory against Clitheroe in the opening salvo of this triangular. The first half was a cagey affair, with neither team really dominating until Tobi finally unlocked their defense to score under the posts. Fleetwood boasted a decent sized pack and put our scrum under considerable pressure, especially with newbie Kyle struggling against a HUGE prop who looked like he had had 2 Lucas' for breakfast. A quick team talk at half time reminded the lads that the way to deal with a good pack was to go round them not through them and sure enough normal free flowing try scoring resumed with Jacob, Arthur and Harry getting pies.

And so to the main event. Fleetwood had warmed us up nicely to be honest and Tobi, resplendent in his new figure hugging shirt, hit the afterburners. Our hosts never dreamed of stopping trying, and tackled fiercely as you would expect, but the lads were purring now, with party pieced back row moves, deft kicks and clever scores aplenty. Perhaps we save the best till last with Lucas scoring a brace, outsprinting everyone while chasing delicious dints from Arthur and then Tom. The crowd went wild!

Lots learned today, aggression in the lineout, diving on loose balls and most importantly taking a breath and thinking ahead rather than reacting to or reflecting the opposition's rage and panic.
