Brandywine secures playoff birth with win over Thorns

Strong team play leads to dominant effort over a short-handed York-Lancaster squad

Hard work by the forwards in set pieces and rucks created space for the backs to run all day. Led by Backs Captain and flyhalf Keegan Hackman playing in her final home match for Brandywine, the Riot ladies jumped out to a 45-0 halftime score and never looked back. Wing Jenna Ponto remained atop the leaderboard in Points Scored, contributing 6 tries on the day, while Lock/8-Man Marissa Curti and Winger Lisa Rake also dotted down 2 tries each. Hackman knocked through 6 conversions. Brandywine awaits the #1 seed in D2 South at MAC Playoffs in 2 weeks. Great job by all and much admiration for the Thorns who played hard for 80 minutes despite being short-handed the entire match.
