The Bluebirds started the better of the two sides with
STEVE BLENKINSOP going close with a header which just cleared the bar.Denbigh slowly got a grip on the game and were awarded a penalty after 15 minutes when
PHIL JONES fouled tricky winger Craig Pritchard.Kristian Pierce gave Dave Jones no chance with the spot kick.Three minutes later Denbigh increased their lead when Warren Duckett netted from 10 yards.
Things looked bleak for the Bluebirds but after 27 minutes were given a lifeline when a goalbound
LUKE SHERBON shot was handled by centre half Nathan Williams who surprisingly was only shown a yellow card.Unfortunately the penalty from Elliot Jones was collected easily by keeper Jon Hill-Dunt diving to his right.However the Bluebirds got the goal they deserved two minutes later when Blenkinsop was on the end of a cross to fire in from close range.Both sides had chances to score but Denbigh increased their lead on 43 minutes when Duckett evaded two tackles and let fly from the edge of the box giving Jones no chance.
The second half saw the game ebbing and flowing with both teams having chances until the 62nd minute Sherbon reduced the arrears with a close range header.
CRAIG HARRIS came close to an equaliser with a shot from the edge of the box which whistled passed the post and a Harris cross caused Hill-Dunt problems as the referee blew the whistle for full time with the Bluebirds pressing for an equaliser
