Camborne earn promotion back to the big time

After Camborne elite(players and supporters) made their way to St.Minver without any breakdowns, skipper Liam Weeks yet again won another toss to maintain his impressive tossing record this season and choose to bat again for the 19th time. Dan Hocking made the step-up to open the innings and would later become only the 6th man in Camborne history to open both the batting and bowling for Camborne 1st XI. Along with Nick King they added the highest opening partnership of the season(88) before Hocking was bowled for a well-crafted 40 after dismantling South African spinner Robin Hendricks. King added a further 70 with Hosking for the 2nd wicket before Hosking was caught behind to some quick spin for 28. King then followed for 72 including 11 boundaries after he was caught on the mid-wicket boundary with the score at 186-3. Pooley & sprinting Harvey both made 29 to boost the innings score to 258-8 from the 50 overs.
In reply St.Minver fought well to be 28-4 from 5 overs. Ryan Downing(4-35) picked up the first 4 wickets including a neat catch from Harvey at point from the 1st ball of the innings. Hocking then claimed a wicket to make the score 58-5 before Sage Masher claimed the 1st of his 4 wickets having Callum Wilson caught on the line after he had slapped 45. Pooley then claimed a LBW before Masher cleaned the tail to finish with figures of 4-32. St.Minver were bowled out for 146 in the 28th over to give Camborne 20 points securing them promotion back to the Premier league. There is still an outside chance of winning the league next Saturday at Rosudgeon but Wadebridge only need 5 points at Lanhydrock.
