Biggest crowd of the season watch Town pick up first ever 5 point win

Camborne came on strong in the 2nd half at the Recreation Ground to secure a deserved victory and move into a mid table position in South West One.
The home pack laid the foundation for the bonus point win with a fine all round performance in which hooker Ben Priddey, young lock James Goldsworthy, recalled stalwart Martin Woolcock and skipper Dave Roberts were outstanding.
Facing the wind and slope ‘Town’ were behind inside the 1st minute as visiting left wing Lee Powell swept over in the corner.
Thereafter the home line was never really threatened throughout the remainder of the 1st period as the Cherry & Whites defended resolutely before they levelled matters as the interval neared when a flowing move with Priddey involved was finished off in the corner by young left wing Dan Arthur.

‘Town’ kicked off the second half playing with the elements at their backs and immediately put Cullompton under pressure. Urged on by their partisan supporters on the West Bank the forwards went for the catch and drive and from the ensuing maul the ball was popped to Joe Parma who was engulfed by the pack and driven over. Ashley Hosking knocked over the conversion for a 12-5 advantage.
Straight from the kick off Camborne gained field position courtesy of a big tackle by Arthur and pinned their opponents back in their favourite corner.
Laying siege to the goal line for fully 10 minutes Priddey was denied a score with the ball seemingly underneath him before finally the all action hooker was not denied being driven over for his 7th try of the season on 55 minutes.

Trailing 17-5 in deteriorating conditions spirited Cullompton rallied going into the last quarter spreading the ball wide for dangerman Powell to race over and reduce the deficit.

As the game entered its closing stages fly half Hosking put some distance between the two side by landing a monster 72nd minute penalty from 5 metres inside his own half.
On the final whistle the Cherry and Whites duly delivered the extra point when after good play by Roberts a superb cross field kick by Hosking was gathered well by replacement wing Shane Woods who dived in at the scoreboard corner flag. Hosking struck an excellent conversion from the touchline to add further gloss to the victory.
