2018 kicked off with mixed results for CUP FC, as 1st team win 5 goal thriller and Reserves go down in their 9 goal match.
The 1st team travelled to local rivals Cherry Hinton looking to start the year with a win, avenging a 4 - 0 cup defeat earlier in the season and making progress with another unbeaten run. An 88th winner by Phil Benton was the answer, to claim a 3 - 2 victory in the Kershaw Premier. Phil grabbed a first strike on 56 minutes, while Jose scored on 60'.
The Reserves battled hard in their Senior B game vs Bluntisham Rangers, coming from behind to level midway through the 2nd half, but defensive errors contributed to a 5 - 4 loss. Ryan T and Joel scored in the first half, while Scott and Lee were on the scoresheet in the 2nd.
Training resumes tomorrow evening with a 6.45pm start at the Cass, ahead of the weekend, with only the Reserves in action as they host Wisbech St Mary Reserves.
