Standings now finalised for 2017 campaign

Carmel & District Cricket club's season in the North Wales Cricket League ended in a damp squib after a weather-hit final weekend of action.

The club's First XI suffered a 13-2 defeat to Abergele which saw them finish on 78 points in NWCL Division One - 36 adrift of their opponents who beat the drop with 114.

Gwersyllt Park (113) were also relegated while Northop and Pwllheli secured the two promotions spots. Click here to view the final table...

The club's Second XI, who saw their final match of the season rained off, retained their place in the Premier Division after a strong end to the campaign which saw them win four of their final seven matches.

They finished in ninth place on 116 points ahead of Buckley (112) and relegated duo Llandudno (111) and Llanrwst (78).

Carmel's Third XI - washed out on Sunday - also achieved a respectable ninth place in the 3rd XI League with 105 points after four wins in their final sixth matches.

The feat is more impressive given a number of junior players made their debuts during the season.

Bangor were champions as the ended the season with 248 points ahead of runners-up Menai Bridge (205). Click here to view the final table...
