Boss adds to fitting tributes for Mick Andrews

Dave Stringer has today paid tribute to club physio Mick Andrews who sadly passed away last night.

The Scholars boss confirmed to hearing the devastating news just moments before his sides 2-0 Staffordshire Senior Cup win over Newcastle Town.

And Stringer admitted it was a tough evening for everyone at the club to take, but he will never forget the man who always liked a laugh.

“It was with immense sadness, we received the news last night that our great friend Mick Andrews had passed away", Stringer said.

“It was an extremely difficult night for us all at the club because Mick was very much loved by everybody.

“Mick was a true gentleman and had a smile and time to talk to everybody and he made me feel so welcome from the minute I came to the club.

“The very first place I always headed on match days and training nights was to the physio room to see Mick and have a chat and a laugh with him.

“I'll truly miss these times with him. We will all miss him greatly.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol and the family at this sad time.

“God bless Mick”
