The action started earlier this week with Eynesbury Rovers being rewarded for the Monday switch with a bumper crowd of 158 as they entertained previously 100% Newport Pagnell Town. Dom Lawless gave the home side the edge with a goal on 40 minutes, but Luke Emery levelled things up on the stroke of half-time and this proved to be enough to keep The Swans unbeaten, but the winning start to the season has come to an end as Eynesbury moved up to third.

Plenty of Premier Division action on Tuesday with Leicester Nirvana moving above Newport Pagnell to take pole position. They would have been firm favourites to beat city rivals and St Andrews and they did so comfortably at Hamilton Park. Will Gonga gave Nirvana the lead 14 minutes in and Shaquille Master had made it two by half-time with his 33rd minute effort. Jordan Nelson wrapped up the points from the penalty spot nine minutes after the restart and perhaps it was a touch surprising that it remained only 3-0 when the final whistle blew.
Daventry Town returned to winning ways to claim fourth spot by seeing off a rejuvenated Oadby Town 3-1 at Communications Park. Kieran Fitzgerald was on target again after 19 minutes and Jake Bettles made it 2-0 after 32. Josh Walsh pulled a goal back for The Poachers a minute past the hour, but Tom McGowan netted from an acute angle eight minutes later to ensure a home win.
Desborough Town have had an up-and-down season so far, but an excellent 2-0 home win over Deeping Rangers lifted them up to fifth. Goals from Olly Jones (16) and Andy Hall (64) giving Ar Tarn a very impressive victory.
Yaxley looked to heading for a home defeat at visitors Wisbech Town took a two-goal lead in the second half through a Jordan Yong penalty on 51 and a second from Alex Beck three minutes past the hour mark. When Joe Butterworth netted for The Cuckoos three minutes from time it had a consolation feel about it, but the prolific Dan Cotton stepped up to earn his side a 2-2 draw with his injury time goal.
Wellingborough Town leapfrogged local rivals Cogenhoe United with a 3-0 win at the Dog & Duck, leaving the Cooks looking over their shoulders with just four teams below them. A double strike from Deven Ellwood (15, 60) put The Doughboys in command and Jack Wisniewski put the icing on the cake with a third ten minutes from time.
Over the fence Whitworth and Sileby were serving up a topsy-turvy affair to entertain the crowd. Whitworth took a two-goal lead into the break, but Sileby hit back through Scott Sandy (50) and Nathaniel Ansu (52) as they took the game to their hosts. However, Whitworth rode this out and added two more to secure a 4-2 home win. No details of the home scorers have been made available, but the times were 30, 40, 75 & 79. Both sides ended the game with ten men as Sileby’s Stephen Grimley received his marching orders for violent conduct four minutes from the end and a home defender followed him shortly afterwards for a second yellow card.
FA Cup heroes Boston Town must get their heads back to the nitty-gritty of the league campaign with games in hand on everybody else in the Division. The 1-1 draw at home to Peterborough Northern Star was only their sixth league game of the season, leaving them with a lot of catching up to do already. Star had been hammered on Saturday, but they took the lead at Tattersall Road through Wayne Morris on 39, but Richard Ford snatched an equaliser for The Poachers after the break to secure a point.

Harborough Town made the short trip to Kirby Muxloe and ran out impressive 2-0 winners over their hosts. Scoreless at the break, The Bees were ahead within sixty-seconds of the restart through Aaron Preston and skipper Ben Williams added a second six minutes later.

Just one league game tonight with Rothwell Corinthians inflicting more misery on O.N Chenecks with a late goal giving them a 2-1 win at Billing Road. Substitute Justin McKenzie’s 68th minute effort had levelled the scores for Chenecks, but in the end it was defeat number nine for the Northampton side. No details available of the Corinthians scorers though.

Lincolnshire Senior Trophy-1st Round

Pinchbeck United may be in Division One of the United Counties League, but they went into this home game as favourites even though Sleaford Town are a division higher. It does appear that luck hasn’t been kind to Jamie Shaw and his Green Army so far, but it went their way at the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Wednesday as they progressed following a 3-1 win. A penalty (very dubious according to Sleaford’s own twitter account) gave Town the lead before Pinchbeck levelled the scores. Tom Figura turned out to be The Green’s hero on the night with a double strike to put the game beyond their hosts, despite a late onslaught from the Division One side.
