Academy Team of the Week - Tuesday 10th April

By Jay Catton

This weeks team of the week has been announced following first week of action in April.

Huge well done to all those selected in another great week of action.

U8's Owen Conway

Owen linked up really well upfront with Jake Pendlbury who was a strong contender too. Owen got himself a couple of goals v Prestatyn and always looked to be positive in his wing play v Bangor. Well done Owen. Owen was also outstanding Friday against Ashville in Futsal league.

u9s - Blake Rigby

Blake played very well in this week's games and always tries to cover every part of the pitch, his energy levels are super and always gives 100% for the team, very talented attacking midfielder and even scored a couple of goals on Saturday.

U10's - Ben Cronshaw

Cron was very effective on the right, taking people on in very good areas and had great end product, our best player on the day.

U11's Cameron Meredith

Cameron's best performance this season on Saturday, always looking to get on the ball and link up with others, took information in well from the sideline and to cap it off he brought us level against Bangor with a great strike in off the bar.
Well done Cameron

U12s - Rhys Lloyd

Rhys put in an excellent performance v Flint in our final academy cup group game.
Kept a clean sheet and made superb decisions when in possession of the ball, his positional play was also 1st class!

U13's- Luca Hogan

Hogan was brilliant in the no.10 position, breaking the lines all the time and showing great quality on the ball. Luca topped his performance off with a brilliant free kick from 20 yards.

U14s - Kian Thomas

Kian recently signed for the team and settled in really well a real organiser at the back , dealt with Rhyls physical and long ball tactics extremely well from centre half as well and being comfortable and relaxed in possession . One of five or six very strong performers .

U15 Ben Cotgreave

Ben's performance against Bangor today was excellent, always looked comfortable on the ball and worked just as hard off the ball getting himself in good positions, he started out wide left also played 9 and the 8 for me,in which his attitude never faltered, unfortunately his game time was cut short in the second half due to injury .Well done Ben and keep up the good work.

U16s Elliott Evans

In a physical game Elliot battled well in midfield. He topped off his performance with a fantastic goal.

U19s - Harry Wilkes

In a difficult and frustrating game which the 19s dominated but didnt capitalise on chances, Harry was solid and recycled play well. His distrubution was good and saved the 19s twice in the 1st half with 2 one on one saves at narrowing the strikers angle well.
