Nomads Hit 10 At Home Vs Bradley

For the 3rd time this season on the 3G the young Nomads hit double figures, this time it was Bradley Park on the wrong side of a 10-1 Mauling.

As is always the case in high scoring games, the report can't be as detailed as we'd like due to the sheer amount of goals and opportunities in the game, so this report will have an overview of the proceedings in today's game.

The Reds were at home to bottom side Bradley Park and still unbeaten on the 3G, the reverse fixture was a 5-0 win for the reds and today was a good test to show the difference in performance.

And what a performance it was.

Of course, 10 goals for shows on paper that it was a great performance, however even 10 doesn't do justice to just how well the lads played as a group. The football from Jack Wynne in goal right through defence to attack was absolutely sensational. Bradley defended with 2 solid units and were camped out in their own half a lot of the game, so the lads had to figure out solutions to break their lines.

5 goals in each half shown the intensity in which the home team played.

The game plan was to overload the wide areas to open the lines at the back and the Nomads found lots of joy from that with Luke Woolley and Leon Doran on the right and Craig Chisholm and Liam Bruford on the left.

Euros Barker was a menace in the first 10 minutes with a goal and an assist for Craig Chisholm. The latter bagged another goal shortly after.

Bradley tried desperately to stop the ball coming out from the back but with George Coulton, Ben Waddilove and Owen Manley just pulling all the strings. The away team did get their break from pressing, a miss placed pass at the back saw Jack Wynne off his line and the ball at the striker's feet, unmarked 25 yards out. A neat lobbed finished saw Bradley pull a goal back.

It wasn't just open play that Nomads threatened it, it was set pieces too. Captain Ben Waddilove has enjoyed his share of goals from corners this season and bagged himself another one, with an excellent touch and finish into the top corner from a loose ball after the corner.

Rich in goal scoring form Luke Woolley grabbed a brace on either side of half time, showing his dedication to getting in on the goals by sliding knee-first into the post to convert a driven cross in by Craig Chisholm. In true Luke Woolley fashion, even though he hit the post that hard it dented, he didn't want to go off injured because he "wanted a his hat-trick".

Nomads were just popping the ball around with ease and all play started from the back and went through Owen Manley, in the end Bradley just didn't bother marking the young Nomads' midfield screen and allowed Manley all the time in the world to pick out passes.

Leon Doran finally got in on the goals after what felt like 10 times of asking, he had already hit the bar, the post and had the keeper save a bunch of his shots.

Woodward introduced a triple substitution on the hour with Joe Johnson, Ben Finnegan and Jack Foster entering the action.

Jack Foster got his goal 2 minutes after coming on, getting his toe on a cross from wide before assisting strike partner Euros Barker from a flick on.

Barker wrapped up his hat trick with 7 minutes to go with a driven shot that hit the near post and in, making it 3 goals and 3 assists in the game to cap a vintage performance.

Man of The Match - Craig Chisholm
Craig Chisholm down the left-hand side saw lots of the ball and seemed to create a chance whenever he went forward, this intent was shown 6 minutes in when he drove from his own 18-yard box all the way into Bradleys on the counter before creating the first goal. He seemed to float past players all game and worked himself so hard up and down the line that he eventually went down with cramp on 88 minutes. He scored 2 and provided 4 assists in the game and proved exactly why he is on the fringes of the Welsh Colleges squad at such a young age.
