Last night (19/04/18), we took on Bodedern Athletic FC in a midweek fixture at Tan Parc. We knew before hand it was going to be a tough match as Bodedern are a strong and quality side. So the message before the game was to make things hard for them, make them work for everything and don't give them any space or time on the ball.
First Half began with the Away side as we knew keeping the ball and passing the ball well around the park, with the ploy of trying to switch the play early and trying to feed Tyco early with balls over our defence. But we stood firm and got more into the game as it went along. And we got our reward just before the half hour mark with Gethin Hughes controlling the ball outside the box and unleashing a shot into the far bottom corner with the onrushing Kenny Hughes in the goal for the away side having no chance. As Half Time was approaching, Boded were pressing hard for the equaliser with Llan desperately trying to hold for a crucial lead going to half time. But on the stroke of half time, the away side were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, up stepped Jordan Taylor to whip it in to the far top corner to give Cai Ab Arfon in the goal no chance at all.
Half Time - Llan 1 - 1 Boded
Second Half began the same as the first with Boded on the front foot passing the ball round trying to gain the upper hand in the game. Another Free kick was awarded 5 minutes into the second half in another dangerous area outside the box, again up stepped Jordan Taylor and with the same outcome found the far top corner, again no chance for Cai in the goal. Then for a period of 25 minutes it was a tight game for both sides until Ryan Taylor sprung the offside trap and scored to make it 3-1 for Boded. 3 became 4 as Tyco got himself on the score sheet. With the game seemingly over - but Llan kept going and fighting and rewarded when Tudur Williams poked in to make it 2-4 after a fumble by the away side keeper.
Final Score - Llan 2 - 4 Boded
Man of The Match - Andrew Roberts
All in all a very gutsy and good performance by the lads, they showed never say die attitude and left everything on the pitch to be fair against a quality side. They did what the management asked of them before the game and it showed on the pitch, it's just the silly little mistakes that seem to cost us at crucial times in football matches and we pay the price for it.
On to Saturday now, in which can be described as the biggest game of the season for the club. A must win game as we host Llanfair PG at Tan Parc with a 2:30pm Kick Off. Your Support would be appreciated.
