Haringey Borough 1-3 Dulwich Hamlet

By Liam Hickey

Dulwich won a competitive friendly with goals coming from an own goal, trialist and a spectacular last minute effort from Byron Lawrence.

The Hamlet put in another good performance against a Haringey Borough side who look well equipped to more than hold their own in the Bostik League Premier Division.

It was the home side who almost took a second minute lead following a slip by Sanchez Ming, but Preston Edwards sprung to his left to push the shot wide.

One of the Dulwich trlalists foced a good stop from Valerie Pajetet in the Borough goal before Dulwich took a 17th minute lead. Anthony Cook delivered a cross from the right that a defender turned past his own keeper.

The lead only lasted five minutes, with Haringey equalising after catching the Dulwich defence napping. Michael Chambers was penalised for a foul and the ball was quickly played into the box, where a low cross was turned home at thne far post.

The Hamlet regained the lead in the 30th minute as one of the trialists smartly turned a Tanasheh Abrahams cross past Pajetet at his near post. The same trialist also forced a fine save from the Borough keeper just before the break.

Half Time 1-2

Dulwich once again changed all their outfield players at half time and Jay May was quickly into the game as he fired just over the bar and Nathan Green also saw an effort well saved.

The Hamlet were content to keep the ball as they moved it across the pitch, probing at the defence, whilst the home side struggled to create any real chances throughout the second half.

It was May who forced another fine stop from Pajetet before, almost on the final whistle, Byron Lawrence added a third goal. He cut in from the left and curled a delightful right footed effort high into the top left corner of Pajetet's goal.
