Home team overcomes weakened Greenock Wanderers team

Greenock Wanderers were weakened by over half of their playing squad being unavailable for this match, but we were glad that they decided to travel through and give us a game when many teams would have cancelled.
With a few Dunfermline players unavailable for this game, and several last minute injuries and illnesses, we managed to go ahead with a 13-a-side development game, with 4 Dunfermline boys turning out in Greenock colours.

Dunfermline opened the scoring early with a well taken try from a few passes out wide followed by a clear line break. Dunfermline followed this by several more first half tries, as Greenock struggled to defend our attacks in the wide channels.
Several positional changes were made at half-time, with some of our more experienced players joining Greenock, making the second half far more competitive. Our loaned players linked well with some of the Greenock players, and there was now a good battle in the rucks. However with all the changes, Dunfermline lost a bit of shape in both the attack and defence, something that we 'll continue to focus on in training. Greenock edged the second half by 4 tries to 3, with Dunfermline winning the match overall.
