Two quality first half strikes by Alex Theobald put his side in the driving seat at The Unwin on Saturday
Robins went into the game without Spencer Saberton ,Nathan Littlefair (both unavailable),George Darling (injured) Sam Goodge (long term injury)Matty Simpson (suspended) and Liam Griffin getting 90 minutes in the reserves after a lengthy break
The Bloaters also had their selection problems, but this gave some of their fringe and youngsters a chance in the first team
The home side started on the front foot with Daniel Jeffrey and Kelvin Enaro combining well done the right with forwards Sam Reed and Alex Theobald giving the Yarmouth back four no time on the ball. Lewis Hook after a slow start started to show ability on the ball in central areas .
With 20 minutes played the home side deservedly took the lead when a flick on by Sam Reed found Alex Theobald who rounded the keeper and from a very tight angle slotted home. The score was doubled in the 40th minute when good interchange between Jeffrey and Enaro again found the willing run of Sam Reed who again set up his striking partner Theobald who drove the ball in the top right hand post past the helpless Yarmouth keeper for his 20th goal of the season
With a two goal cushion the home side did over commit in the second half although Enaro and Theobald did go close again. With the Robins looking on course for a home win Yarmouth were awarded a corner in the 87 minute when it looked like captain Jamie Alsop was fouled. The corner resulted in Yarmouth getting one back when for once the home side did not deal with the delivery and Harry Reynolds failed to collect and the ball was headed into an empty net.
The last few minutes did cause a little panic with the home players and supporters, but in the end saw the game out and with other results going the way they did Thurlow Nunn Premier League football will take place at The Unwin next season
