Ignatians Brave The Conditions By Shading Harrow Mudbath

By

HARROW SENIOR U18S: 0 - ENFIELD IGNATIANS SENIOR ACADEMY: 3 Friendly (8th April)

The outcome of the encounter of this game was only determined 11 minutes from time when Calum Middleton landed his pot at goal. However, the final result was as much a reflection of the testing conditions,as both sides struggled for any semblance of fluency and handling errors abounded in the Harrow friendly played in the wet and the rain .

Although handling errors cost the visitors at least two tries in the first-half there were a number of plusses and not least some sterling defence from the Middlesex-capped Harry Bennett, whose endeavours helped keep the blue and gold line in tact when Harrow came calling.

The second half was memorable for the introduction of two junior academy players, Feidhlím Ginty and Anthony Cabaco, and both made seamless transitions with feisty displays which certainly bodes well for the future.

Not that Ignatians were ever out of the woods but, even when Harrow came hard at them and camped in the Enfield 22, the defence held firm.

Spokesman Jack Wilson said: "We need to improve our game management a little as, in terrible conditions, we were trying to play too much rugby out of our own 22 but it was great to get a win before our final league game away to Finchley. Our stand out performers where Finlay Mackay (strong carries), David Olowofoyeku (outstanding tackles out wide) and Nathaniel Clarke (All round effort and MOM - Pictured). It was a game played in true rugby spirit and our thanks go to Harrow for their warmest of welcomes."
