Exciting new partnership between Frickley Athletic & Minsthorpe Community College

In a pretty groundbreaking move, Frickley Athletic and Minsthorpe Community College are announcing a new partnership that will see Frickley start their own full time Youth Team Football Academy for talented 16 to 18-year-olds hoping to pursue a career in the world of professional football and who want to receive a high quality education at the same time.

Successful players will be given a two-year scholarship with Frickley Athletic and will combine a programme of A-level and BTEC courses of their choice with a minimum 10 hours football coaching per week.

Scholars will also have the opportunity to play at the highest level. Frickley are aiming to compete in the National League Under 19 Alliance and Cup Competitions as well as in the prestigious FA Youth Cup. All home fixtures will be played at Frickley’s Westfield Lane stadium.

The first step on the ladder is an open trial at Westfield Lane on Friday 24th March, starting at 6pm.
