Sharry Signs, Hitchcock Leaves

By Steve Pennock

Karl Rose has signed midfielder Luke Sharry from FC United of Manchester whilst goalkeeper James Hitchcock has left to join Ossett Town.

Twenty-four year old Sharry has been a target of Karl Rose for the last few weeks but he initially opted to join FC United of Manchester from Droylsden before changing his mind and deciding to join Frickley. However, League rules determined that he could only register for Frickley once 14 days had elapsed from the date he had signed for FC United meaning the Blues have had to wait to register him.

He started his career as a junior and then professional at Bradford City before having spells at Guiseley, Worksop Town and then Garforth Town before joining Ossett Town at the end of 2012. He joined Droylsden mid-way through the current campaign from.

Hitchcock joined the Blues to cover for injuries to Tom Woodhead and then Ben Simpson but with both of the latter now fit Hitchock's opportunities have been limited so opted to join Ossett Town earlier this week.
