Dentures on the dancefloor!

I think we've all got a male relative who scrubs up well for an important occasion, a family wedding perhaps, & at first he is on superb form. But then he has a couple of pints & his teeth are in his pocket, his tie is round his head & he doesn't show himself in the best light. Frickley gave us the footballing equivalent last night. Off to a great start with a well taken & much deserved goal, which should have given them confidence. Instead the whole team looked as nervous as a young bride on her wedding night, in similar vein to Saturday. The most significant difference to Saturday was that the nuptual jitters lasted 30 minutes on Saturday but they lasted 75 minutes last night.

On 11 minutes Gav delivered a defence splitting back heel to set up Tyler Walton for his first goal for Frickley. Shortly afterwards a corner drops to Darkenbauer who spins on it but his shot is deflected out for a corner (if Darker scores, we're on the pitch).

The opposition achieved parity on 38 minutes.

HALF TIME - FRICKLEY 1 ALVECHURCH 1

Frickley lost the services of Tyler Walton after 51 minutes due to an injury & the game pretty much ended as a spectacle.

Alvechurch made it 2-1 on 70 minutes.

Shortly after Duggie came off to be replaced by Tyler Blake & perhaps the biggest / only positive of the night was a substitute appearance by JC! The Quads came on to replace Teddy Bloor.

The Blues huffed & puffed but for once Gav & Haze couldn't dig them out of the hole & we fell to our 2nd home defeat of the season - but at least it's mid February as opposed to the end of August which has often been the case.

I don't know if any of the players read these reports but if so - come on lads, stick your chests out & play your football. We saw enough kick & panic football last year & we don't want it creeping back in this season

224 through the gate on a freezing cold evening - we thank you all, please come again

WEBMASTER MOTM - Tyler Walton was the best player in a blue shirt but the Glitterball goes to the fans who stuck it out to the end

There were 2 presentations before the game - the first was our Team Of The Month award for January & it was presented to Penny & Stuart. The second presentation was to Steve White who was recently inducted as an honorary club vice president. Our thanks to Onion Bag for capturing the presentations for us & the kind use of the photo set that is attached to this report
