Match report taken from CPD Llanerchymedd website:
First Half began on a high tempo with both teams trying to play passing football and trying to gain the early assertive in the game with the horrendous weather playing it's part as well. Both teams were creating good chances with Llan gaining momentum with some great chances to take the lead. First it was Iwan Richard Williams, he got the ball to his feet, swivelled and took aim with his left foot which went between the legs of the defender and was bound for the bottom corner only for Gwyndaf Owen the opposition goalkeeper to make a fantastic right hand save to prevent the hosts making it 1-0. Chances kept coming, Jerome crossing the ball from the right side across the face of the goal and Andrew Roberts just failing to get a touch on the ball with the goal at his mercy. Apart from a few half chances from both teams to end the half - it remained 0-0 at the interval
Half Time - Llan 0 - 0 Gaerwen
Second half began with Llan forced into a change with captain Callum McCormack forced off with an injury to be replaced with Liam Owen. With the weather still causing havoc - credit to both teams they were still trying to play good and passive football in a tight affair. But the breakthrough finally came but it was the away side that found the net, cross came in from the right and there was Gaerwen's striker Liam Morris to pounce ahead of Llan stopper Pete Finn to give Gaerwen the lead. After this Gaerwen were finding more rhythm into their game and gaining more confidence. Llan were losing shape and it played into the awy side's hands. Llan were forced into another change with Jerome carrying an injury that saw Rich replace him. Llan knew now that they had to go for it with the awful weather conditions still playing a major part in the game. 15 minutes form time Gaerwen were awarded a penalty, with Liam Owen adjujed to foul Shaun Monument in the box, up stepped the Gaerwen captain Gethin Davies to send Pete Finn the wrong way to make it 2-0 to the away side and that's how it finished.
Full Time - Llan 0 - 2 Gaerwen
First things first credit must go to both teams and officials to play in what was awful and horrendous weather conditions during the game. On to the verdict - again missed chances in the first half when we were on top of the game has cost us dearly and in this league against top opposition you are going to get punished - no excuses.
