Three more players leave the club.

Adam Priestley and Rob Pacey also move to Farsley AFC whilst Darren Kelly joins Frickley.

Defender Rob Pacey and top-scorer Adam Priestley have followed Chris Walton in joining the Throstle Nest club.

"The Priest" joined Garforth from West Yorkshire League side Sherburn White Rose at the beginning of the 2010-11 season. The striker got himself off the mark around a month later with a remarkable seven goals in three games, including FOUR in a President's Cup tie at Sheffield. Being our top scorer for two seasons running it's not surprising really he's been snapped up by another Evo-Stik club. In total he scored 42 goals in 97 appearances in a Garforth shirt, possibly putting him just inside the all-time scorer top ten (sadly missing scorers in the 1980s prevent me from confirming this). He was well-liked by supporters for his ever-determined and never-say die approach.

Rob Pacey also joined the club at the start of 2010-11. The defender established himself as a highly composed and reliable defender and a reassuring prescence at the back. Later in his Garforth career Rob also became a dangerous proposition at the other end of the field (especially at set-pieces), scoring his first goal for the Miners last December. His late late winner at Lancaster in March was surely one of the key moments of our play-off charge last season. In total he made 71 appearances, scoring 6 goals.

Defender Darren Kelly has joined Frickley Athletic of the Evo-Stik Premier Division. The Irishman joined Garforth from Stalybridge Celtic in February last year and provided much experience to the defence. Darren also chipped in with a few goals, his most memorable being an unlikely but spectacular overhead kick to help defeat Chester on the last day of 2010-11. In total he made 39 appearances for The Miners, scoring 8 goals.

Once again all three players played a part in last season's highest ever finish. I'm sure other Garforth supporters will join me in thanking them for their efforts in the last two years and wishing them well for the future.

Adam has left the following message with us:

"Tell all the fans thanks for their continued support and backing and they have been an absolute joy to play in front of and have given me many happy memories of the club. I cherish my time at the club, as it has helped me grow as a player, but I felt the time was right to find a new challenge. If you see Ste, Ve or Paul Cavel please tell them too that I appreciate all their work and drive to get the club to the heights of last year. I owe a lot to Steve and Ve and Garforth and they will always be in my heart."
