High Peak Sports Awards- Treble chance

Glossop Juniors look to build on their award as Derbyshire Sports Club of the Year having being shortlisted as finalists for High Peak Sports club of the Year. The Awards ceremony is on Thursday 28th January 2016 at The Marquee, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.

The Under 15 age group from the 2014/2015 season has also been shortlisted as Team of the Year for the efforts of all 3 teams, Blues, Whites and Girls. They had an outstanding season . They all won their respective leagues, won 4 cups , 3 tournaments and only lost once out of 58 games played, the Girls reaching the Manchester Youth Cup Final and only just losing 2 v1 to Manchester City !

And finally Zoey Shaw has been selected as a finalist for coach of the year. The under 10’s girls coach ( and Glossop NE ladies Assistant Manager) helped set up a new girls team last season and has made a phenomenal contribution to girls and women’s football throughout the club. The former Everton player scored the only goal in Glossop Ladies 5 v 1 defeat to Derby County in the Derbyshire Cup last Sunday.
