Fight Back From The Gingebreads To Continue The Unbeaten Run

By

The Gingerbreads start to their 2017 home fixtures did not get off to the start they wanted.

Callum Bell got the opener for Barwell on 2 minutes when he outmuscled The Gingerbreads defence.

This rocked The Gingerbreads who took the next half hour to properly find their feet. Harry Clifton saw his shot go over and not long after Luke Shaw saw his shot go high and wide.

Just before halftime Barwell looked as if they were to go in 2 up, but Luther Wildin managed to superbly clear the ball off the ime.

Sam Purcicoe looked to be carrying a injury during the 1st half and at half time he was replaced by Michael Hollingsworth, Rhys Lewis went into central defence with Holi' going into midfield.

The second half The Gingerbreads seemed to have the same fight and desire which had got them up-to 7th in the table.

10 minutes into the half Felipe Barcelos replaced Jeremiah Dasalou. Felipe instantly got into the Barwell defence and saw his first real shot hit the side netting.

And on 56 minutes the Gingerbreads were level. The ball returned off the cross bar and Lee Shaw was there to head home.

The Gingerbreads were now the dominant side. Felipe Barcelos saw his free kick go wide and Lee Shaw headed wide.

With 70 minutes gone a good move down the right hand side saw Liam Kay head Barwell back in front.

The Gingebreads however carried on as they were, Luke Shaw was causing trouble down the left and Danny Meadows was trying to create down the right. With 7 minutes to go, The Gingerbreads were back level. Danny Meadows headed the ball back into the area from the by line and Felipe Barcelos was their to tap home.

Stefan Galinski saw his header from a corner well saved and Danny Meadows saw his shot stop.

The referee indicated 4 minutes added time but The Gingerbreads could not get a winner, however the unbeaten run goes on!
