Double Signing News.....

...... in signing Goal Keeper Aaron Jameson from Buxton FC on a dual registration with his parent club and midfielder Mitch Ward from Swallownest FC.

26 year old Jameson started his footballing life at Handsworth Boys before a move into the academy system and onto a pro deal at Sheffield Wednesday where he spent 6 years as Pro with loan moves from the Owls to clubs such as Bradford City and York City.
In 2014 he signed for NPL outfit Buxton FC and the Sheffield born stopper re-joins the Ambers on a dual registration to help him get some games and to help out the Ambers in a key position due to Archie Sneath having extra work commitments at the current time and David Ratcliffe nursing a knee injury.

Ambers gaffer Peter Duffield said of the signing “We have a player of great pedigree in Aaron , Martin (Mackintosh) has been superb with his assistance in getting the deal done which will help us , the player and Buxton , unfortunately Archie (Sneath) has extra work commitments at the moment and Ratty is struggling with a knee injury, so to be able to bring someone in of Aaron’s quality is fantastic for us and we welcome him to the club”

Swallownest captain Mitch Ward also joins the Ambers in a busy week, the highly sought after midfielder impressed the management team in the recent Senior Cup game(versus Swallownest) and is a player that has been on the clubs radar for a while, Ward is a talented combative midfielder who has a great eye for a pass.

Duffield said of the Capture of Ward “ Mitch is a player that a number of clubs have shown interest in , and I’m delighted to bring him to the club, he impressed us greatly in the recent cup game , when he more than held his own in the middle of the park against very good players, he’s a leader with a great attitude and he can play, and I feel we have a really good player on our hands who is more than capable of making an impact and being comfortable with the step up the leagues”

He added “ I must thank Mark Ward (Swallownest Manager) who has been brilliant in making the move the move happen for Mitch to come to us, his professionalism is a credit to him and his club”
