Indoor sucesss for Ipswich Seven

By Kate Wingar

Indoor greatness

Both Ipswich men's and women's indoor sides took part in their respective competitions this weekend.
The men travelled to Nottingham to take part in Div 1, facing some stiff opposition. While the women battled hard in Div 2 at Whitgift.

Ipswich men drew against Harleston in their first game, beat Southgate in their second and lost to Hampsted & Westminster and Beeston in the third and fourth games of the weekend. They currently sit 5th out of 9 in that league. For a newly promoted side, the guys are doing extremely well. They head to Bristol on the 13th and 14th January to fight for the remaining 16 points up for grabs.

While the men were flying high on the Saturday, the women did their best to remain in contention for promotion. The opening game saw them start slow and lose 5-2 to Trojans. They then beat West Herts. On the the Sunday, the girls drew to Cambridge City, beat Wimbledon and draw to Bedford. It came down to the very last match to decide whether the team would make it through. And they did. Ipswich ladies will be competing for promotion to Div 1 on the 20th and 21st January in Nottingham.

Well done to all who took part and good luck for the next weekends!!!
