Saturday saw the 4XV team chalk up their first win of the season against a Bristol Bisons II squad made up of new recruits and some more established players, in surprisingly warm and settled conditions for November.
4XV Captain Alistair Griffiths said:
“The match was a successful culmination of the hard work and effort put into training by the 4XV so far this season. Key learning points from previous matches were executed during the game such as lower tackling and a sharper set piece with an improved line out.”
Captain Alistair Griffiths returned from injury, going over twice early doors, whilst new recruit for this season Thomas Thierry Sicot scored an additional two tries either side of the break. Other points came off the experienced boot of fly-half Chris Martin, converting one try and slotting over an easy penalty in front of the posts.
The fellow international gay rugby (IGR) visiting team provided a decent defence, returning 15 points and a return fixture will be scheduled for early in the new year.
