BAKER - BEST OF THE SEASON

By Steve Reynolds

Blues came out on top in a bruising battle when they slugged it out to pick up a hard fought victory at Peterborough Sports on Saturday.

After the game delighted Blues’ boss Neil Baker said, “That was the best result of the season for a lot of reasons.

“The pitch was difficult, we went 1-0 down and we’ve lost tight games before but today we found a way to win.

“On Tuesday we entertain Eccleshall in the Staffs Senior Cup, a competition I want to win, but I will be looking to those who haven’t had much football recently to come into the side and stake their claim for a regular shirt,” he added.

Baker will continue to scour the transfer market this week as he looks to bolster his dwindling squad after having little luck in attracting new blood over the last fortnight.

Meanwhile, Jordan Johnson returns to the squad on Tuesday after missing the Peterborough game whilst Alfred Hammond has been released.
