HAYNES HOPING TO DOWN DRAYTON AGAIN

By Steve Reynolds

Leek Town make the short trip down the A53 this weekend to face Market Drayton Town in their penultimate Evo-Stik First Division South fixture.

The two sides go into the game with a near identical record with Blues lying one place and two points ahead of their hosts in 18th place but having played a game more.

Both sides have won eleven games this season but Market Drayton's home record is not particularly good with only four of those wins coming at Greenfields out of 17 home games.

With two seemingly evenly matched sides a draw might seem a likely result but Drayton have drawn just three games all season, whilst Leek have drawn only five.

Blues have not had a game finish all square since January when they brought home a point from promotion chasing Brigg Town sixteen games ago.

That game was followed by a thumping 4-0 home win over The Gingerbread Men with Dan Cope (2), Devon Gibson and Jamie Haynes (pictured) against his former club, all on target.

Striker Anthony Malbon will look to continue his rich vein of form which has seen him score ten goals in nine games as he and Blues look to end the season on a positive note.

Live coverage of the game will be available on Twitter with score updates on the home page of this site.
