In a closely fought contest it was Leek CSOB who clinched the win over Leek Town in the Chris McMullen Memorial Trophy.
Leek Town had the best of the early pressure which saw them dominate the first 15 minuted, but CSOB quickly got to grips with the game and began to defend well. Leek Town hit the inside of the post just before the interval through Zef Thomas.
The second half saw many changes for both sides, but this was a much closer contest with stout defending from CSOB and with around 15 minutes to go Leek Town were awarded a penalty, up stepped Tim Grice who hit the upright full on with the rebound going to safety.
Just before the end Jamie Pointon got beyond the Leek Town defence and held off a strong challenge to neatly finish high into the net to put CSOB into the lead, this being the deciding factor in the game.
The game was well attended by many supporters to remember Chris, who was such an asset to both Clubs - this is the 6th time the game has been played with Leek Town winning 4 of the previous meetings.
